ZyGoDigital Releases ZyGoCaster™ 2.0 for OS/X

ZyGoDigital, a leading provider of live video compression and streaming
technologies for the defense and security industries, today announces the
release of ZyGoCaster 2.0 for use by the Ballistic Missile Defense Program.
ZyGoCaster 2.0 is compatible with QuickTime 6.4/6.5 and Apple Computer’s Jaguar and Panther operating systems. ZyGoCaster 2.0 is designed for the serious streaming video creator who needs to broadcast multiple videos from the same machine. ZyGoCaster will also save multiple videos while streaming and add metadata to multiple custom QuickTime tracks in the saved videos. Any number of additional tracks can be added as the data is described very generally in XML. ZyGoDigital’s ballistic missile customers create custom tracks containing several different time codes and a user defined event track. Metadata can also be XrML to enforce Data Rights Management or can indicate the direction a person or vehicle is traveling within a video for surveillance applications.
The following features are new in ZyGoCaster 2.0:
A “New” command creates a new instance of the broadcast session; once created and selected, multiple ZyGoCaster broadcast sessions may be started at once.
“Save” and “Save As” commands save the new instances to the folder of your choice.
A “Preview” command that allows the video input to be viewed prior to any compression or device selection.
An “Export” command to create an .sdp file for the QuickTime or Darwin Streaming Server.
The “New” dialog opens up the size, IP and ports for selection/input.
The “Save/Save As” commands also save underlying selections for input device(s), audio and video compression(s), and packetization(s).
ZyGoCaster continues to allow video clip creation through the “Save to File” dialog In version 2.0, ZyGoCaster can be scripted into a scheduler function.
ZyGoCaster 2.0 automatically exports the meta data and video files to the ZyGoOASIS™ video asset management tool.
ZyGoCaster is a QuickTime broadcast tool that works with any video or audio codec, but yields the best streaming results when used with ZyGoVideo, a QuickTime 6 Downloadable Component. Multiple ZyGoVideo streams are displayed in a tiled screen on Plasma displays to provide a “video wall” capability, using ZyGoMediaShow™. ZyGoMediaShow displays the time code and event data synchronized with the video in both tiled and theater display modes. ZyGoMediaShow also provides the capability to “channel surf” the various streams in order to pick one out for enlarged display. ZyGoVideo Pro XT™ is also being used by the Ballistic Missile Defense Program to add a variety of real time camera information to the streaming video.
